Vines

Vines was my first oil painting. It's a simple, underdeveloped piece featuring winding green vines, but every artist has to start somewhere.

Hidden among the leaves is a tiny lizard face. It's a small detail that ended up foreshadowing something I never could have predicted. Years later, animals would become the heart of my work, and tucking little creatures into my paintings has become one of my favorite things to do. Looking back, this tiny lizard feels like the first glimpse of the artist I was becoming.
